I can’t believe that summer will be ending in a few weeks! Although summer is my favorite season, saying goodbye to the summer humidity and high temperatures is something I look forward to this year. As this summer ends, I also look forward to preparing my home for the fall season, which happens through fall organizing.
Below are 5 fall organizing tasks that has helped me get my home ready for the fall. You can also complete these fall organizing tasks which to help you get your home ready for the fall, leaving you extra time to enjoy the beautiful fall weather.
1.Swap out your clothes
During the summer months, I look forward to having a lighter closet with no jackets or heavy coats!
The fall is a good time to begin to bring those items back (UGG) into your closet. Swap out your shorts, tank tops, swimsuits, and other summer clothes for warmer fall clothes. As you go through your closet, there may be transitional clothes in your closet that you can keep for both seasons.
Remember if there are clothing items that you have not worn, in a while consider selling or donating the items.
2.Plan meals
Home organization includes the management of your home. This includes weekly meal planning.
During the fall months, you may be busy with sports or just life in general!
Fall is the perfect time to cook soups. Soups are so easy to make and can last for several days which makes it perfect for days when you are on the go and don’t have time to plan and cook a big meal.
Soups also taste better each day.
All Nutritious has over twenty fall soups for dinners. This great list of soup ideas can give you a variety of choices when meal planning.
3.Organize and declutter your rooms
Plan days to clean, declutter, and organize rooms in your home this fall. This doesn’t have to be completed in one day. I typically take one or two days over the course of two weekends, decluttering and cleaning the rooms in my home.
Here are a few tasks to complete:
Throw away any trash
Dust and vacuum
Clear and clean counters and surfaces
Organize using Clutterburg’s SPACE method-Sort, Purge, Assign, Contain
Shampoo your rugs
Clean your baseboards
4.Organize Your Guest Room
Fall is the season where we officially begin to think about the holidays.
If you host your family during the holidays, begin to organize your guest room if you have one and will host family during the holiday season this year.
Completing this action during the fall season, not the winter season, is a perfect time as we all know how the busy the winter holidays can be.
This article will help you prepare your guest room and make your guests feel like they are staying at a hotel.
5. Create A Fall Calendar
Lastly, don’t forget to place your important activities on a calendar. I used to think summer was the busiest season of the year but fall I now believe is just as busy. Just preparing for Christmas is a event.
Create a calendar to include important dates, trips, days where you will have guests, and any upcoming appointments. By organizing the fall months, you are less likely to forget any important events. Having a calendar also allows you to have a plan which decreases stress-a plus for any individual.
