Champs In Organization-Amazon Prime Day Finds

This post contains Amazon affiliate links. See our full disclosure here.

Amazon Prime Day 24 is here!

Amazon over the years has become my go-to for purchases! Believe it or not, when I purchase items on Amazon, I feel as if I save money. When I shop at physical stores, I usually go in with a list of specific items to purchase, but I end up leaving with more than I originally intended to buy.

When I purchase items on Amazon, I am the person who reads all 1,000 reviews and looks at all the pictures included in the reviews. This takes a while which doesn’t allow me to buy items impulsively.

Below are home purchases that I’ve made. Most of these items have been in our home for years, and I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of suggestions or a home upgrade!  What’s best is that you are sure to find the best deals on the items on Amazon Prime Day 24.

Amazon deals My Favorite Small Pantry Items

Lazy Susan Organizer My Lazy Susan organizer is the best!  I place all of my liquids on my Lazy Susan organizer.  A quick spin allows me to get to my items quickly.

Storage Baskets The storage baskets also allow me to group like items together which has allowed me to organize our small pantry.

Label Maker Once we organized our items in assigned storage baskets, we placed labels on the baskets.  With labels, everyone knows where the items belong in our kitchen which has helped keep it organized.

Can Organizer During the winter months we love to make soups using canned vegetables.  The can good organizer has been a lifesaver.  With the can organizer, we have saved so much space.

Storage Container With Lids-Decanting occurs when you transfer materials from one container to another (usually clear containers). You can free up additional space by transferring materials from their original container (which often are bulky).

Tea Organizer- I am a huge tea drinker.  Tea typically usually comes in square boxes which take up unnecessary space.  My tea organizer lets me see my tea collection at a glance and creates more space.

My Favorite Bathroom Items

Bathroom Vanity Jars Vanity jars have upgraded our bathroom drawers.  We no longer have bulky boxes inside our drawers and our cotton pads and Q-tips remain sterilized in the jars.

Laundry Hamper With Separators  After seventeen years of marriage, my husband continues to do his laundry himself.  Before we would have two hampers which took up a lot of space.  With the 2 in 1 laundry separator, we gained additional space which is always a win for me. The separators are removable which is a plus since we currently have a 2 story home (our laundry room is downstairs).

2 Tier Towel Rack This towel rack works wonders for drying your towels.

Shower Caddy  A shower caddy serves as a great organizer, allowing you to store all your shower essentials in a single, convenient spot, reducing the necessity to place them on the shower floor.

Under The Sink Organizer This is one of my absolute favorite purchases! Before the organizer, we just stuffed items under the sink. With the organizers, our items are now organized and easy to find.

Vanity Tray  The tray keeps our face wash and perfume in one area. Having a designated tray for our face wash and perfume makes our daily routine more efficient and keeps our counter space tidy and clutter free.clean home

My Favorite Cleaning Items

Mr. Clean Multi-Surface Cleaner We love to use this cleaner when mopping the floors in our home.  This multisurface also works great when cleaning our sinks, refrigerator, etc. Your home will smell so good using this cleaner, a added bonus!

February’s Love Your Home Challenge 2025 (Free Printable)

February is just around the corner, and it’s the perfect time to focus on what we love most on this blog—our home! This year I’m participating in the annual month-long challenge to show my home spaces some extra love. It’s where I complete small, simple tasks that create a tidier, and more peaceful place to live. Ready to join me? Let’s make this February the month we fall in love with where we live!

This challenge won’t require you to purchase anything (all that you will need is the FREE Printable).  Instead, we will focus on what we have in our homes and regain an appreciation and love for the items through minimizing, tidying, and refreshing our homes.

At the end of the month, you will be amazed at how simple tasks each day can make a tremendous difference in your home. Consistency is the key and where the magic happens.

Let’s jump into the Love Your Home challenge!

How The Challenge Works

Each week there will be themes where you will complete tasks in certain parts of your home. Don’t forget to download and print the calendar so you can easily access it each week.

At the beginning of each week review the tasks and select at least three tasks to complete during the week.  Show your love by tagging me in your photos through your stories on Instagram @champsinorganzation.  That’s It!

What Will You Need

The good thing about this challenge is that you probably have everything already in your home.  This challenge is all about decluttering, tidying, and cleaning. A trash bag or box will work for decluttering and use the cleaning supplies that you currently have.

Week 1 Bedroom

Wash Or Swap Out Your Comforter Set-Wash your comforter and sheets on your bed.  As the comforter and sheets are washing and drying, sanitize your mattress.  When I wash my comforter and sheets, I prefer to do it in the morning as my comforter takes a while to dry.  After the comforters and sheets dry, make up your bed.

Declutter the drawers of your nightstand- Our nightstands can be a catch-all for all the things. To declutter and clean your nightstand,  first, take out everything. Grab a towel and vacuum and clean the drawers.   Declutter any trash and items that you no longer need.  With the remaining items group like items together. Place and organize the groups back in the drawers.

Limit the number of items on the top of your nightstand and only include  3-5 items. Repeat this process tomorrow for your 2nd nightstand!

Clean out your drawers-Similar to decluttering your nightstand, take everything out. Next, clean the drawer. If you have any clothes that you have not worn or have holes or stains, get rid of them.  Fold the remaining clothes and group them by color. Place the items back into the drawer.  Repeat for another drawer tomorrow!

Declutter toys or clothes in your children’s room– Take a box or bag and make a trip to your child’s bedroom. Start by donating clothes that no longer fit. Next, get rid of broken toys and any toys that your child no longer uses.

Week 2 Bathroom

Clear the counters-Look at the current state of your bathroom counters.  Are there items on the counter that you don’t use every day? Find a new home for these items.

Declutter expired, facial products– Declutter and throw away any expired facial products.

Declutter and clean underneath the sink-Today may take a few extra minutes and you will need a trash bag.  In addition to continuing to declutter expired makeup and facial products, look for old hair products, old cleaning sponges, medicine, vitamins, old razors, and old toys.  Trash any old fingernail polish, old air fresheners, old sponges, toothbrushes, and toothpaste.

Wash your towels– Freshen your towels with a good wash (include vinegar as a bonus).

Deep clean the bathroom– Now that you have freed your bathroom of clutter give your bathroom a deep clean by scrubbing the toilet, shower, and sink. Don’t forget to clean your mirrors.

Week 3 Kitchen

This week we will focus on the kitchen, the heart of the home! Our main focus is to declutter the kitchen as it contains an overwhelming number of items.

Empty and clean your refrigerator– Deep clean your refrigerator by first removing every item.  As you remove the food items check the expiration dates on the items.  Throw away any old food.  Remove and wash the shelves.  With the shelves removed, clean the inside of the refrigerator before returning the shelves and food.

Match your Tupperware with your lids– Go through your Tupperware set and declutter any containers that don’t have a lid or vice versa.

Declutter expired food and check for bulky boxes– Check the expiration dates of your spices and food items.  The first time that I decluttered my spices, I was shocked that we were still using spices that had expired several years ago.  If you have food items inside of boxes check your boxes.  Many times once opened, the boxes contains only a small amount of of food.  Taking the food out of the boxes opens up space in your pantry.

Wipe down and clean your appliances– Clean and wipe down your appliances including your microwave, stove, and oven.  If you have help move your refrigerator and give the area behind it TLC by sweeping and mopping.

Meal plan for the next day– Get ahead for the following week by meal planning.  Plan what you will eat each day and make a list of food items that you will need.  Look in your refrigerator and pantry as you may already have some of the items needed.

how to declutter

Week 4 Living Room

Change your current living arrangement– Look at the current placement of your furniture.  Freshen up your space by moving your couches or chairs.  If you have throw blankets on your couch you can even change the location of the blankets.

Show your sofa love by giving it a cleaning-First, remove the seat cushions and throw away any trash that has become hidden underneath. Next, vacuum any dirt (the amount of crumbs that we find is crazy). Return the cushions. If necessary, spot clean or vacuum the cushions.

Wash your curtains or clean your blinds– Our curtains and blinds are often overlooked when we clean and tidy our homes. If you have washable curtains, give the curtains a quick wash.  If you have blinds use a microfiber towel or vacuum with a soft brush.

Clean any spots on the wall-If you have any spots on the wall gather a towel or soft sponge to remove the dirt.  House Beautiful has a soap solution that will help remove the dirt.  Always test a small spot first and be mindful of the type of paint on your walls.

Look around your living room– Does every item have a home?  Strive to give every item a home.  Baskets work wonders for remote controls.  If you have an entertainment center with drawers, use the drawers as homes for items in your living room.

Bonus: Home Management

During the month of February you can also focus on your home documents.  Below are some extra ideas!

Create a home management binder– All that you need to create a home management binder is a binder and colored paper or dividers to divide each section.  Read all about how to create a home management binder HERE.  You’ll also find inside a free home management cover!

Create A Command Center Or Command Drawer- A command center is a dedicated place where you store your family’s important documents such as mail, calendars, school reminders, appointment reminders, event reminders, etc.  I like to call it a central hub for the home.  In addition to documents, this area can be a designated place where you store your keys, bags, and purses.   Imagine never forgetting where your keys are because you have a standard home for them!

Look for a place today to begin to create a command center– The kitchen, refrigerator, entryway, drawer, and empty walls are great places to create a command center.

Shred or throw away any mail– Do you find yourself constantly saying that you’ll get to your mail but never do? Read through your mail and shred or throw away any documents that you do not need. Consider going digital to reduce mail clutter.

Delete unnecessary email– Take the time to go through your emails and delete old emails.  Also, unsubscribe from companies and subscriptions that you do not need.  This will help with the amount of email that you receive each day.

Final Thoughts

The most important part of this challenge is to honor and show your home love.  Most importantly, the Love Your Home Challenge is meant to allow us to learn that we can be content with the items that we have and through hard work we can be happy and love our home. If you are looking to complete major tasks, this article shows how you can break those projects into 1 a month.

Why Decluttering Isn’t Enough

If you have recently embarked on a decluttering journey congratulations! While watching Nextflix, I stumbled upon Marie Kondo and as a result became fascinated with decluttering and home routines.  I have been decluttering our home for almost a year and with each item donated, trashed, or re-homed I always feel a sigh of relief.  The appearance of my home has also changed and my stress levels have decreased.

While I will always talk about the benefits of decluttering (and there are many), I learned why decluttering isn’t enough to maintain a clean and tidy home.  If you only declutter without considering and implementing additional home concepts you will become frustrated in your home journey as you soon find out that the clutter can return in just a few weeks or even days.

By going beyond the art and practice of decluttering and completing three additional steps you can experience a profound transformation in your home that will last for years to come.

Address The Root

Becoming Minimalist states that clutter is just a symptom of a problem and often is the result of a deeper issue. It can be a reflection of our emotional attachments, unresolved past experiences, or fear of letting go.  Without determining the root of the problem, you will declutter items throughout your home but will continue to bring clutter into your home creating a vicious cycle. To determine and address the root of clutter that has formed in your home and life, read and think about the following circumstances and determine if they may apply to you. This will allow you to examine your relationship with material things.

Possible Contributions

You are trying to fill an emotional void- If you are currently experiencing stressful situations in your life, you may often look to material things to make you feel better.  If you rely on material items to make you feel better you will create a cycle that will quickly fill your home with material items, resulting in clutter.

Fear-You have a fear of parting with items in your home.  You feel that in the future you may need the items.  As a result, you keep the items.  These items become “What If Items” that you really never use.

Lack of knowledge – You have a lot of items but don’t consider the items clutter (which they are).  On the other hand, you may be aware of the amount of clutter in your home.  However, if you are not a planner and tend to procrastinate, the materials in your home, although not needed, continue to stay in your home.

Transition-You are in a transitional season in your life.  As a mother of 3, I recognized that clutter occurred in our home when my children were babies or in their toddler years.  I thought that I needed to purchase every gadget, toy, diaper bag, bib, clothing item, etc.  Anything that was geared toward children was on my list to purchase.  As a result, clutter quickly became a norm in my home.

In any scenario remember it’s okay to ask for help!

Stop The Flow

Once you determine and address the root of the clutter (which is often the hardest step) you can begin to pump the breaks and stop the flow of the accumulation of materialistic items a.k.a clutter.  To stop the flow it’s important to limit the amount of things that we purchase but how do we get to that step?  We remove the triggers and the time that we spend in situations that prompt and trigger spending. Here are some practical ways to stop the flow of clutter:

Unsubscribe from email subscription

Meal plan

Order groceries online

Limit trips to retail stores

Limit time online

Limit time spent on social media (Ads are notorious on social media)

Set a limit on the number of items that you want to own (for example you may set a limit of 10 pairs of shoes)

Ask yourself “Do I really need the item”

Ask yourself “How often will I use the item”

Ask yourself “Where will I store the item”

Find healthy alternatives that provide dopamine

Manage The Remaining Items-Make An Action Plan

After decluttering and stopping the flow of bringing items into your home, managing what you have in your home is how you will begin to make changes in your home that will last for years to come.

Develop A System

Now that you have said goodbye to items that no longer serve a purpose in your home,  it’s time to focus on what you do have. When you focus on what you do have, think about how you will use and manage those items.

Develop a system for organizing your belongings. When you complete this step you find a designated place for each item and make it a habit to put those things back in their proper location after use. This prevents items from accumulating in random places and creates a clutter-free environment. Storage containers, shelves, bins, baskets, and labels help categorize and separate items, effectively creating a maintenance system.

Develop Routines

In addition to organizing your materials, you will also need to develop routines for your home.

Routines are predictable actions that we routinely do.  Home routines are actions that we complete within our home to help keep our home clean and organized.

When creating a home routine, make it personal for your home. Examples of home routines are awesome and a tremendous help but if you don’t modify and create home routines specifically for your home they won’t work well.

Some examples of home routines include a morning routine, evening routine, laundry routine, decluttering routine, cleaning routine, and grocery shopping routine.

When I created my home routine, I thought about the following:

  • How often do I need to do the routine (daily, weekly, monthly)
  • When will I have time to complete the tasks within the routine
  • Will I need help when completing the tasks within the routine
  • How will this routine make my home and life better

Once you decide what tasks within those routines you will need to do, write those items down and divide the routines into daily routines, weekly routines, monthly routines, and yearly routines.

When starting your home routines, complete your routines for 3-6 weeks and trust the process.  After 3-6 weeks if your routine isn’t working make changes to the process.  Consistency is key to maintaining the benefits of a meaningful and sustaining organization.

Final Thoughts:

Decluttering isn’t just a one-time task and isn’t enough to create a peaceful home environment.  It’s truly an ongoing process that requires commitment, consistency, and effort. By realizing that decluttering isn’t enough and going beyond decluttering with additional strategies and routines you will create a space that promotes peace.

Below are 15 easy home organization projects that will help you on your journey towards an organized and peaceful home. Get ready to bid farewell to chaos and say hello to a simpler, more enjoyable life!

Easy home projects

1. Organize Your Junk Drawer

Our junk drawers become the home of all our odds and ends.  To organize your junk drawer, start by taking everything out.  Clean the drawer and place mini containers in the drawer.  Decide what each container will hold (writing utensils, post it, tape, rubber bands, scissors, etc.).

Begin to sort the items in the identified categories.  Toss or donate items that are not apart of the identified categories.

This organizing technique is referred to as organizing for the space not the materials and forces you to part ways with items.

2. Organize Your Car

Our cars are an extension of our home.  Grab your home vacuum cleaner and a trash bag and set the timer for 20 minutes.  Place large pieces of trash in the trash bag and vacuum the small pieces of trash.

Throw away or shred any expired insurance cards, registration cards, coupons, loyalty cards, and other pieces of papers that are no longer needed.

Organize your glove department by ensuring that you have up to date insurance cars and registration cards.

If you don’t have a home vacuum cleaner, visit your local car wash to clean and organize your car.  A car wash will be an added bonus.

3. Organize One Drawer

In your bedroom go through one drawer that contains clothing items.  A sock drawer is the easiest to start with.  First go through your drawer removing socks that have holes or seem to be very worn.  With the remaining socks create pairs.  Lastly, fold the pair of socks in half, folding the pair in half again.  Another simple way to organize and fold your socks is to roll the socks, neatly tucking the socks.  This tutorial has many folding options for socks.

4. Organize The Mail

If you are unable to go through your mail on a daily basis (which is best), set a time to go through your mail.  Shred or throw away any junk mail or mail that you no longer need. Next, create two piles with the remaining items. Pile one will consist of items that you need to address now.  Pile two will consist of mail items  that you will need to come back to soon (Don’t forget to come back to the items) to address.

5. Organize Your Email

Spend 30 minutes going through your email deleting emails that you no longer need. Unsubscribe to email providers that are no longer useful to you.  This will stop the flow of emails.

6. Organize Your Phone

Organize your phone by deleting apps and photos.  In just ten minutes you can delete over one hundred pictures which will free up memory space!  After you delete the apps that you no longer use, create folders to organize the remaining apps.

Tips: Delete your screenshot pictures first.  These usually don’t hold emotional attachment for us which means that hitting the delete button will come easy.

7. Start a home organization binder

This is a game changer.  A home organization binder is a binder that stores important information regarding your home and family. It serves as a central location that will allow you to access the documents in a quick manner. To create a home organization binder you will need a binder, dividers, and important papers.  To decide what papers are important for the home organization binder, first decide what categories are important for your family. Family contacts, dates, finances, schedules, medical concerns, and schedules are common important categories to include.

Next, when you have all the items together, separate each item according to their identified category. Hole punch or use clear protector pages and place the papers in the binder.  Separate the categories using dividers or a colored sheet of paper.

8. Meal Plan

Organizing a meal plan for the week or month is a great simple home organizing task as it allows you to organize your evenings.  Look in your kitchen panty to determine what food staples that you currently have.  Based on the food items that you have, begin to make a dinner menu for each day of the week.  If there are items that you will need to purchase, make a grocery list and plan to make a trip to the store soon.

9. Clean Out Your Refrigerator

Set the timer for 20 minutes and grab a bag or utilize your garbage disposal.  Dispose of any old food and food that you know that you will no longer eat.  Look for expired items. Expired milk, cheese, and condiments are my go to oftens when looking for expired dates.  When the timer goes off set the timer again- this time for 10 minutes and wash any dishes that you may have emptied.

10.Organize your medicine cabinet

Just as you went through your refrigerator, also go through your medicine cabinet.  Look and properly dispose of expired vitamins and medicines.

11. Organize Your Purse

I think that I could win the award for having the most coupons in my purse.  Go through your purse and clear it of any unneeded paper.  If you have receipts that you still need, designate a place at home to store the receipts.

Place all your credit and debit cards, gift cards, etc back in your wallet.  Small pouches work great as organizers for purses and serves as a home to place similar items.  If you have makeup throughout your bag, place all of your makeup in a pouch.  Placing my writing utensils in a pouch has also helped with the organization with my purse as you can never have too many pens.

12. Organize Your Work Bag

Similar to organizing your purse, you can follow the same steps and organize your work bag.  If there are papers that you cannot part ways with, place these papers inside folders.  Color code or label your folders.  This will allow you to quickly locate the papers when needed.

13. Create a cleaning schedule

A clean home compliments an organized home.  In fact they go hand in hand with one another.

Create a cleaning schedule that outlines areas of your home that will clean daily.  This can be a simple schedule where you list one cleaning task each day.  For example on Monday you may vacuum the floors, Tuesday you may dust, etc.

14. Create Labels

If you have started to organize spaces in your home, label the spaces.  Labels are great as they allow everyone in the home to know where specific items belong, eliminates confusion, and helps give every items a home.

15. Create a monthly home organization plan

Now that you have built your confidence with small organization projects, begin to schedule home organization tasks each month out of the year. This article contains a FREE monthly planner to help you plan!.

The Surprising Secret to Home Organization: A Monthly Plan

Do you feel like you’re drowning in clutter when you look at your home environment?  I’m all about daily and weekly routines but did you know that the key to a tidy and clutter-free living home can also lie in something you might not expect? A monthly plan.  Yes, a monthly plan for home organization is another great road map that will allow you to create an organized and tidy home!

A monthly plan in addition to tasks that you complete on a daily and weekly basis, allows you to tackle specific areas in your home, areas that take specific planning, materials, and thought.  It also allows you to focus on larger tasks that cannot be completed in one day.  In addition, by incorporating a monthly home organization plan, you will be able to organize every area in your home without the stress in one year!

In this article, we’ll explore how to create a monthly home organization plan and give you ideas of home organization tasks that you can complete each month of the year.  You’ll also find a FREE PRINTABLE to help you create your monthly plan.

home organization plan

Assess Your Home

The first step in achieving an organized home is to assess your home for areas in your home that need TLC.  You may want to organize every inch of your home or there may be only a few areas in your home that you want to purposely place on your monthly calendar to organize.  If certain areas don’t immediately come to mind, take a walk around your home looking for areas that are cluttered, unorganized, and cause you stress.

After assessing your home, jot down the areas of your home that you want to organize each month.  Strive to identify 12 areas (1 area for each month) that you want to tackle and organize.  If you cannot find 12 areas that’s totally okay!

Prioritize Your Home

Once you have assessed your space, it’s time to prioritize. Determine which areas require immediate attention and focus on those first.  Highlight or star those areas on your paper as those will go on your monthly calendar first. The free printable will help you organize your home organization tasks!  The printable also allows you to have a visual that ensures that each targeted area receives the attention it deserves.

Create a Monthly Schedule

With your list of home organization tasks identified and prioritized it’s time to create a monthly schedule.  First, remember the areas in your home that you identified as a priority. Place those on your January or February calendar.  Continue to place other home organization tasks on each month.

Make sure to identify the number of weeks in the month, taking note of any special events or holidays that may affect your availability. Consider your own personal preferences and energy levels throughout the week, as this will help you determine which tasks are best suited for each day.

Next, begin by dividing your tasks into smaller, more manageable chunks. For example, if you plan to declutter your entire kitchen, break it down into smaller tasks like organizing the pantry, cleaning out the refrigerator, and decluttering the countertops-completing one task each week out of the month. This will make each task feel less overwhelming and more achievable.

Remember to be realistic with your schedule. It’s better to spread out your tasks over a longer period of time and maintain a consistent pace rather than attempting to do everything at once and feeling overwhelmed.

Monthly Task Examples

Now it’s time to divide and conquer. This crucial step will help you break down larger tasks into smaller, more manageable ones, enabling you to stay motivated and make significant progress in achieving an organized home. By dividing your tasks and focusing on one area at a time, you can prevent overwhelm and ensure that each space receives the attention it deserves. Below is a list of home organization tasks that you can complete each month.  This is only a guide and will need to be customized based on the needs of your home.

  • January-Declutter your clothing and shoes
  • February-Organize your kitchen pantry and refrigerator (tips on how to organize your pantry here)
  • March-Spring Clean
  • April-Declutter and organize toys
  • May- Declutter and organize your garage and any exterior areas
  • June-Organize your office or Command Center
  • July-Organize your closets.  Take inventory of your children’s clothes and shoes for the upcoming school year
  • August-Organize your documents.  Make sure to organize documents that your child may need for the new school year
  • September-Declutter your email accounts, photos, and all things digital
  • October -Fall Clean (This is beneficial as you prepare for the holiday season)
  • November-Declutter any Christmas decor that you did not use the previous year and will not use this year
  • December-Store and organize Christmas decorations after the holidays

Maintain

After you organize areas each month, set up a routine that will help you maintain the home organization tasks that you have worked hard to achieve. This can include tasks such as daily tidying, weekly cleaning (Consider a Sunday Reset), and monthly deep-cleaning.  Routines are important as they allow you to not only to sustain your goals but empower you to create and achieve additional goals.
